If you’ve had an EVOX session with me, you’ve probably watched the screen light up with colors while you talked and thought, “okay, what am I actually looking at?” I get this question a lot, so let’s break it down!
Every time you speak, sing, or hum about a topic during your session, EVOX is quietly reading the energy in your voice and mapping it onto something called a Perception Index, or PI for short. Think of the PI as a snapshot of how you’re relating to whatever you’re talking about in that moment. It’s completely unique to you and to that specific topic, so no two sessions ever look quite the same.
The Colors Tell a Story
The PI uses color to show where your voice energy is showing up and how much of it there is:
- Blue means a lower amount of excess energy in that zone
- Green means a bit more
- Yellow means more still
- Red means the most excess energy in that zone
- Gray shows your total voice energy across every zone
- White marks the zones with barely any energy at all
- Black shows your overall excess energy across the whole session
None of these colors are “good” or “bad.” They’re just information, a way for us to see where to focus during your session together.
The 12 Zones
Each zone on the PI corresponds to a different way perception can show up. Here’s the full list:
- Unacknowledged
- Repetitive Thinking
- Sadness
- Emotionally Disconnected
- Self-Critical
- Conditional Love
- Anger
- Fearful and Overwhelmed
- Suppressed Emotions
- Unworthy / Undeserving
- Rigid Beliefs
- Conflicting Beliefs
When one of these zones lights up during your session, it just means there’s some voice energy connected to that pattern around the topic you’re speaking about. We use that as a starting point, not a label, and definitely not a diagnosis of anything.
Why This Matters for Your Session
You don’t need to memorize any of this before you come in! I’ll walk you through your own PI in real time and we’ll talk through what it’s showing together. Consider this post your behind-the-scenes look at the tool, so if you’re the type who likes to understand the “why” before you try something new, now you know a little more of what’s happening on that screen.
